01 Let the Fall Work

The Clout’s ribbed body adds water resistance and flexibility, supporting a controlled descent and subtle movement with light rod input. Its stick-worm profile keeps the presentation simple as it falls beside cover.

Start with a weightless presentation to work shallow water. Let the bait fall, watch your line, then use a small lift to begin another descent. Hook choice and added weight change the fall rate and action.

02 Choose Your Rig

Weightless or Texas Rig · Work Shallow Cover

Rig it straight with the hook point protected for fishing around grass, docks, and laydowns. Fish it weightless for a slower fall, or add a worm weight to reach deeper cover and adjust the descent.

Wacky or Neko Rig · Work Individual Targets

Hook it across the body for a wacky presentation that lets both ends move on the fall. Add a nail weight to one end for a Neko rig, then use short lifts and light shakes around isolated cover or bottom structure.

Carolina Rig or Shakey Head · Follow the Bottom

Use a Carolina rig to work longer stretches of points and flats, or a shakey head for shorter movements around specific targets. Alternate slow pulls or small shakes with pauses.

Drop Shot · Hold It Above Bottom

Set the hook above the weight to position the worm off the bottom. Use small rod movements and pauses to work the bait without constantly moving the rig away from the fish.
